Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP)

Provides financial assistance to low-income households with at least one member 60 years of age or older experiencing a heating or cooling emergency. The Program allows for the payment to utility companies, the purchase of blankets, portable heaters and fans. 

 

Eligibility:

  • Resident of Pinellas County
  • Must have one person age 60 or older in household
  • Power has been disconnected or is past due
  • Meet poverty income guidelines

The EHEAP program will provide financial assistance up to $600 based on the household’s emergency needs and the minimum amount due to solve the crisis. The program will also repair existing heating or cooling equipment up to $600. A quote from a licensed vendor is required and service fees are the responsibility of the participant. Vouchers may be available for blankets, portable heaters and fans in crisis situations.
