Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP)
Provides financial assistance to low-income households with at least one member 60 years of age or older experiencing a heating or cooling emergency. The Program allows for the payment to utility companies, the purchase of blankets, portable heaters and fans.
Eligibility:
- Resident of Pinellas County
- Must have one person age 60 or older in household
- Power has been disconnected or is past due
- Meet poverty income guidelines
The EHEAP program can provide financial assistance up to $5,000 based on the household’s emergency needs and the minimum amount due to solve the crisis. Households are eligible to receive multiple Crisis Benefits per program year. The program will also repair existing heating or cooling equipment up to $5,000. A quote from a licensed vendor is required and service fees are the responsibility of the participant. Vouchers may be available for blankets, heaters, and fans in crisis situations. Please note, financial assistance is based on funding availability and available appointments.
